You will be able to view current drug tiers, lower-cost alternatives and generic alternatives- all at the point of care before a prescription is written. In addition to the drug list information, you will have access to Epocrates’ respected clinical resources. The leading handheld drug reference guide provides medication information that allows you to prescribe appropriate dosages for adults as well as pediatric patients. You can also check for prospective drug interactions and view potentially adverse effects and contraindications. The advantages of this software are many, including safer, more cost-effective prescribing and increased patient satisfaction. Epocrates is easy to obtain! Simply install the Epocrates software with the UnitedHealthcare PDL that is appropriate for your needs on your handheld device. The UnitedHealthcare PDL will be automatically updated every time you perform a HotSync®. The Epocrates application works for PDAs using Palm OS® or Microsoft Pocket operating systems.
